Maria Mälksoo’s keynote at the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme Advanced Research Workshop in Joensuu, Finland

Prof. Maria Mälksoo gave an opening keynote ‘Ritual Deterrence: NATO and its Eastern Flank’ at the Advanced Research Workshop Resilience as a Deterrence Strategy: Towards a Comprehensive Security Panorama on 1 October 2024 in Joensuu, Finland. The workshop brought together scholars and various practitioners from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, UK, Germany, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Japan, Canada, Morocco, Turkey, Slovakia, and Ukraine, along with the representatives from the OSCE and the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats. The workshop was organised by the University of Eastern Finland and sponsored by NATO’s Science for Peace and Security Programme.
