Cameron Hunter and Maria Mälksoo at CMS China’s Nuclear Forces Conference

Cameron Hunter and Maria Mälksoo participated in the Center for Military Studies (CMS) conference on China’s Nuclear Forces and Deterrence at Copenhagen University. The event brought together internationally renowned experts on the subject, collectively providing a rounded picture of the political and technological dynamics.

Dr Hunter presented an overview of his work so far on the Ritual Deterrence project, using a ritual-lens to analyse Chinese and American deterrence practices. Professor Mälksoo joined several panels as discussant and chair, culminating in a panel debate on the future of China’s nuclear forces.
